AC Milan are pushing to secure the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier before the window shuts, a report claims.
As the mercato enters its final week, there are plenty of rumours still afoot regarding potential additions that Milan could make to reinforce Marco Giampaolo’s squad.
The majority of the speculation over the last fortnight has been regarding Angel Correa, and a recent report from Calciomercato.com – who cite AS – stated that Milan could be closing in on a deal.
However, it seems as though defenders could also be on the wishlist, as earlier on Monday The Guardian claimed that Milan want Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo.
Meanwhile, Argentine journalist Balcarce – who works for lapaginamillonaria.com – claimed later in the day that Milan are in advanced talks over a move for River Plate’s Lucas Martinez Quarta.
Now, French outlet soccerlink states that Milan are ‘advancing rapidly’ in talks for Spurs full-back Serge Aurier and ‘could reach an agreement soon’.
The report states that Aurier is keen on a move to Milan, where he would join Ivorian compatriot Franck Kessie.
Soccerlink add that an agreement over a fee has not yet been reached, with the Premier League side holding out for €25m for Aurier.
The former PSG man would provide competition to Davide Calabria at right-back and would raise further questions regarding the future of Andrea Conti.
