Report: U-turn as Milan intend to redeem Belgian youngster – the details

Alexis Saelemaekers, who joined AC Milan in January from Anderlecht, should continue his adventure with the San Siro side. Despite recent reports, the Rossoneri intend to redeem the versatile Belgian.

As reported by the Belgian outlet SudInfo.be, Milan signed Saelemaekers on a €3.5m paid loan with an option to buy at €3.5m. However, in recent weeks, the Italian press has suggested that he will return to Anderlecht, is that the case?

Not at all, based on sources close to the Rossoneri as well as the player’s entourage. Instead, Milan are very satisfied with the 20-year-old, although he has only been able to rack up 33 minutes due to the Coronavirus crisis.

Milan are not to keen on spending €5m – the first payment of the loan plus commissions and salary – for just half an hour. In other words, their stance on Saelemaekers hasn’t changed although a loan could be a solution for next season.
