Repubblica: Milan and Monaco reach agreement over fee for Kessie

AC Milan and Monaco have agreed a fee over the transfer of midfielder Franck Kessie, according to the latest reports.

The first speculation emerged last Thursday from France regarding Kessie, as RMC Sport suggested that Milan are in talks with Monaco over a deal.

Monday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera – as cited by Calciomercato.com – then stated that Kessie’s future at Milan is ‘still to be decided’ with Monaco still interested.

French outlet RMC Sport (via GFFN) followed that up on Tuesday by stating that Kessie remains at the top of the Ligue 1 club’s wishlist.

According to Wednesday’s edition of La Repubblica (via Calciomertcato.com), Milan and Monaco have agreed a fee for Kessie believed to be €25m plus bonuses.

However, the problem is now to convince the player, and at the moment his salary demands are slowing things down.

The newspaper adds that the Ivory Coast international is asking for €6m-a-year to join Monaco, a figure which at the moment they are not willing to meet.

Another complication comes from the fact that Milan would have little time to source a replacement.
