RMC Sport: Maignan leaves France-Austria at half-time due to calf issue

By Oliver Fisher -

There could yet be more injury woes for AC Milan to contend with as Mike Maignan left the game between France and Austria at half-time due to injury.

Roberto Mancini’s comments about Tonali leaving camp earlier today caused alarm, given that left-back Theo Hernandez has sustained an adductor problem and will therefore miss the two matches that France will play, while Davide Calabria will also require rest over the break.

Mike Maignan did start the game against Austria tonight given that Hugo Lloris is out, but he was replaced at the interval. The Milan goalkeeper left the pitch at the Stade de France to make room for Alphonse Areola due to a problem in his left calf.

That is what is being reportedly by RMC Sport (via MilanNews), so once again Milan’s medical team will be waiting for an update regarding the condition of the player in view of the crucial upcoming games.

  1. This nations league bs needs to stop seriously, our players are always getting injured during these rubbish games. This should be an U/23 tournament not for top level players

      1. Yes I agree with u is it becoz of our pressing style of play that is getting the players hurt… Pioli and the coaching stuff should have a look at our training

      2. Not only our players that are getting injured. But I do agree something must be wrong somewhere.
I can’t remember the last time we had a full squad.

  2. Nations League is a JOKE! Means nothing and causes more injuries to players in an already packed season. UEFA needs to terminate this tournament.

  3. Players aren’t machines they got euros, friendlies and World Cup every 5 years then nations league fifa and uefa should bave understood this when a world cup is taking place in Nov dec jan which is out of extra ordinary they should have scheduled these matches accordingly or scrap it for time being to accommodate the players health…..goal keeper or no goal keeper its a big loss for club that pay them monthly…..we will end up missing half of first starters by the time league resume in 10 days time……blame falls on relevant authorities for pressing nations to participate in use less cups….why blame players in this case if they ditch their national teams there careers might derail……

        1. Injury is sure no joke yeah, you are the joke here, international games should na banned including the FIFA World Cup because players are getting injured, Theo Florenzi krunic Origi and Rebic have all been injured in the league this season, should the league also be banned?

Stop watching sport and stick to movies, plastic football fan crying rivers

Some days ago you guys where insulting Mancini for not giving Calabria a call up now UEFA is to blame for injuries, stop it please

FYI these players are not forced to play for their respective countries, it is their will and dream to play for their respective national teams

  4. Y’all crying foul about the Nations league should stfu, this is a Fifa free calendar week and the last before the World Cup, countries are playing matches in preparation for the World Cup as it will be the last time coaches can evaluate their players before the World Cup team lists are out, there would have been friendlies if the Nation league was not on, South Americans, Asians, Australia and Africans are also playing matches this week, y’all stop blaming the Uefa Nations league like is the only matches going on in this international break
