Saelemaekers explains why Kessie is crucial for Milan: “He is the president”

Franck Kessie has been one of the best Milan players this season, having managed to keep up his performances even in recent months when things have been tough. Certainly, he’s a player that the Rossoneri can’t replace.

With 9 goals in the league, in addition to 3 assists, the Ivorian has already set a new goalscoring record in his career. He has shown his qualities from the spot, but also in both phases of the game with his important stamina.

In an interview with Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Alexis Saelemaekers heaped praise on his teammate and also explained why he is so important for the game. He also brought up his nickname, ‘Il Presidente’, which certainly has caught on.

“He is the president. The way he walks, the way he plays. He has a lot of experience here, when I play with him, by his side, I feel it. He is important for the whole team because he is very strong,” he stated.

The duo will start against Hellas Verona tomorrow and Milan sure could use three points, as the race for a top-four finish is extremely tight. They are still in second place, but not with many points to spare and that is worrying.
