Schira: Three Serie A clubs express interest in out-of-favour Milan defender

Mattia Caldara will return to Milan this summer after an 18-month loan spell at Atalanta, who decided not to redeem him for €15m. However, it doesn’t look like he will stick around at the club.

The defender didn’t exactly impress all that much while at Atalanta and that resulted in little playing time. His valuation has subsequently dropped and the Rossoneri can’t expect to get the initial €15m from him now.

According to Nicolo Schira, three Serie A clubs have asked for information about Caldara’s situation, namely Cagliari, Genoa and Hellas Verona. Good news for Milan, who could perhaps accept an offer of around €8m.

Although €8m isn’t a lot, Caldara isn’t the only outcast that will leave Milan this summer and all these sales will add up to a nice amount for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to work with. And that is the important thing.
