Seven Milan players in search for glory at World Cup – from Giroud to Leao

By Isak Möller -

Seven AC Milan players will be at the World Cup and most of them could have an important role for their respective countries. Olivier Giroud is perhaps the one to follow with the most interest.

Theo Hernandez and Olivier Giroud have both been called up by France, who is one of the favourites to win the competition. Giroud will have a starting role as Karim Benzema has been ruled out, while Theo could get more time as the competition goes on.

Another player that could have a great tournament is Rafael Leao. A lot of eyes will be on him amid the recent transfer rumours, and it’s also time for him to show the Portuguese fans what he’s capable of. Diogo Jota’s injury could result in a starting spot, as well.

The Rossoneri defenders Sergino Dest (USA), Simon Kjaer (Denmark) and Fode Ballo-Toure (Senegal) will also take part. The former two should have starting roles, while Ballo-Toure might have to fight for his spot a bit more.

Finally, we have Charles De Ketelaere. The playmaker needs to regain confidence and while it won’t be easy for him, the feeling is that he could get a decent amount of playing time with Belgium.
