Sky journalist claims Boban was behind Bennacer, Hernandez signings and not Maldini

By Isak Möller -

Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez have been two important players for AC Milan this season, arriving at the club last summer. Their respective value has skyrocketed and the Rossoneri certainly made two great deals.

The consensus among the Milan fans has always been that Paolo Maldini was behind the signing of Theo Hernandez. The technical director supposedly used his many years of experience as a left-back to pick out the next star in that position.

However, after yesterday’s game between Lazio and Milan – which the Rossoneri won by 3-0 – Fabio Caressa spoke to Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it) and revealed what Zvonimir Boban told him about the matter.

“Theo Hernandez? Boban he always told me he was very strong. Theo and Bennacer were his bets,” the journalist stated.

Boban was sacked by the club back in February after making a controversial. As reported by La Repubblica (via Calciomercato.com), the Croatian is getting ready to take on Milan in court as he deems his sacking unfair. It remains to be seen how that battle will end.
