Sky journalist hints Paqueta will not be re-integrated into Milan’s plans if he stays

By Oliver Fisher -

Sky journalist Peppe Di Stefano has hinted that Lucas Paqueta may not return to the fold at AC Milan even if he is not sold this month.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Paqueta would not be called up by head coach Stefano Pioli for Friday’s trip to face Brescia, and Sky Italia reported that it was actually at the request of the Brazil international.

There have been widespread reports suggesting Paqueta is struggling with life away from the pitch which is not being helped by the fact he is out of favour at present with the Rossoneri.

Tuttosport report that the request by Paqueta not to be called up is a move by the player to force Milan to sell him, though Vito Angele confirmed in his exclusive for us that PSG have so far only offered €20m.

Speaking in the studios of Sky Italia, Peppe Di Stefano spoke about Suso’s prospects with Milan as well as his team-mate Paqueta.

“If Suso should stay at Milan, he will be available again. With Paquetà, however, the speech is different because he didn’t play before and in my opinion he won’t play after,” he said (via MilanNews.it).

“The Spaniard, on the other hand, has a very high quality and if he surpasses this moment of difficulty, can be reintegrated into the team and becomes a good alternative to Castillejo.”
