Sky: Maldini’s comments leave the door open – he wants to understand what Milan will be

By Oliver Fisher -

Paolo Maldini has left the door open regarding a possible stay at AC Milan rather than fuelled rumours about his departure, a journalist has claimed.

Last month, we revealed via Vito Angele that Rangnick will indeed agree a role as manager – that is the double responsibility of head coach and the man in charge of the transfer market.

Angele also told us that despite the fact Maldini has been widely tipped to leave Milan at the end of the season, Rangnick on the other hand wants him to stay and help his transition into Italian football.

Several rumours have emerged from various outlets suggesting that Maldini has been offered an ambassadorial and less operational role by CEO Ivan Gazidis, while Maldini fuelled speculation before the Juventus game by stating he doesn’t know if there will be room for him beyond the summer.

Manuele Baiocchini spoke to Sky Italia about Maldini’s declarations on Rangnick before the Napoli game, during which he backtracked on having previously questioned the German’s suitability for the club.

He stated: “Yesterday there was a small reversal of Maldini in the declarations on Rangnick that he had made months ago. As the Rossoneri technical director said were words against the modality, not against the person. Maldini leaves an open door to understand what Milan could be next year, in my opinion.”

  1. Super News.
Maldini has to stay, he is an ICON of Milan. Ragnick has to come, he is professores of modern football, which is now missing from Italy.
It would be the best mixture of the world! 🙂
    Forza Rossoneri
