Sky: Milan could sell Arsenal, Spurs linked powerhouse to fund move for regista

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan would make a move for a regista in the event that Franck Kessie is sold in January, according to a report.

Sky Italia recently reported that the Rossoneri are thinking about the idea of signing a new midfielder to play in front of the defence.

However, this would not mean that Bennacer loses his place necessarily as he could move into the mezzala position where he would be given more positional freedom.

According to the same outlet – via MilanNews.it – Kessie is attracting interest from clubs in the Premier League.

If the Ivorian were to leave next month, Milan could think of buying a midfielder to put in front of the back four, therefore moving Bennacer to the mezzala role as aforementioned.

A number of targets were mentioned by Tuttosport on Thursday morning for the regista role, including Arsenal trio Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Lucas Torreira as well as Stanislav Lobotka and Sander Berge.

Calciomercato.it meanwhile recently reported that four Premier League sides are interested in Kessie: Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham and Wolves, the latter being the most serious.
