Theo Hernandez has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in the last few weeks but according to a report, the German side could move forward with Alphonso Davies instead. Indeed, they could abandon their ‘Theo pursuit’.
Bayern Munich have been evaluating several left-backs in the last few months as renewal talks with Davies have been difficult. However, as reported by Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the talks now seem to be back on.
The new manager Vincent Kompany is keen on keeping the Canadian international and negotiations are underway to find a solution. The German side have already offered a contract worth €13-14m per year, though more will likely be needed as Davies is asking for €20m.
In any case, should Bayern Munich reach an agreement with Davies, then they could obviously abandon their pursuit of the Milan star Hernandez. The Rossoneri have slapped a price tag of €80m on the Frenchman and will not accept any low offers.
Milan and Paulo Fonseca would like to keep Hernandez and renew his contract, but the interest on the mercato must settle down before an agreement can be reached. The banger scored yesterday perhaps doesn’t help on that front, though…
Hehehehe. Hes asking for 20M and theo is only asking for 8 from Milan
im all for theo renewal but to be fair to milan theo 8 is after tax while davies 20 is before tax , the differnce is a little over 2m , anyway we should pay our stars their worth im sure theo would say yes for 7m plus bonuses
i guess thats true.. he on 6M net atm and Theo is on 4M
When we see what kind of figures are mentioned about player salaries in some european clubs, it is hard to even imagine any great success with a team that has a salary cap with some 25% of those figures !
What huge Mbappe did in play for his salary?
Does he show game play like Maradona or Pele?
If some club give 20+million salary, that doesn’t mean all clubs should do that
Mbappé has scored 255 goals in 305 games with PSG. He scored 3 goals in the World Cup final and was the leading scorer in the competition. He’s a global star streaming major commercial revenues to his team.
72 millions yearly salary is just absurd even for things you mentioned. Also French league is weak and ideal for stat padding and aside of french league and cup he didn’t won anything major for the last 6 years.
He’ll not win this in Madrid. PSG has so much money it’s not a problem and PSG fans are not concerned about the budget like the fans here. If Ligue 1 is so easy then why almighty David and others don’t have huge stats to show as well? Mbappé as a left winger was top scorer every year. He can’t win alone also. He’s one of the best players in the world and that’s a fact.
@Bartholomeo.
All of this is true of Mbappe, but it doesn’t render the fact that Chinese clubs originally (remember them?), the Petroclubs, and now Saudi Arabia, have so twisted football finances in the last twenty years that everyone that isn’t one of those clubs is suffering. Unless you are one of those clubs, and maybe Madrid and Bayern, you just can’t pay certain transfer fees and wages. We’ve already had one forced ownership transfer due to debt. Whatever AC Milan is, it’s not a club to get horse traded around by creditors.
20 million well I’ll be damned 😕
Problem is then Madrid would come for Theo after missing on Davies.
If Milan were really about keeping Theo, they would issue a hands off or slap a 150 million price tag on him. 80 millions set is an invitation for the rich. If Bayern won’t then Madrid will. They are in search for a LB.
Not really up to the club. We could slap a 500 million price tag on Theo, but if he refuses to renew his contract, which has two seasons left, next summer he’ll be worth half his current book value and if we still refuse to sell he’ll walk for free in another season. Given what we’ve experienced with Donnarumma, Kessie and Calhanoglu, I’d rather take the most we can get this summer against half next summer, or nothing the summer after that, if he doesn’t extend by July 15 or so. At least with 80-100M we can find a good replacement and reinforce somewhere else. BTW, at 80M, Theo would be the most expensive LB transfer ever, so that price would already be setting the market.
I think they calculated 80 millions are all time high for him considering his age as well. But the main problem here is, they don’t even consider giving him a proper wage? I mean Inter will give Lautaro 9 millions and bonuses and we, with clean accounts cannot? That’s the real problem.
“I mean Inter will give Lautaro 9 millions and bonuses and we, with clean accounts cannot?”
And yet we’re the “financially stable ones” and inter and juve who already started their mercato, purchase for higher prices and give higher wages to their players, are the ones who struggle.
I guess if someone earns 2€ per day but only spends 1€ that same day, he can be considered financially stable. Poor, but financially stable.
