Sport: Barcelona inquire for Milan defender

By Ivan Stoev -

While Milan is yet to sign a midfielder they have almost closed a deal for Real Madrid’s Theo Hernandez, leaving the future of Ricardo Rodriguez at the club uncertain.

With Hernandez arriving for a figure close to 20 million euro, the Rossoneri would like to sell one of Laxalt and Rodriguez. Reports from FootballItalia suggest that Barcelona has asked the Italians for information about the Swiss international as they are searching for a back up to Jordi Alba.

Milan bought the left back for a fee in the region of 15 million and would be happy to get their money back having secured a replacement; therefore, negotiations might speed up.

Rodriguez has 41 games behind his back last season, providing four assists along the way. However, his lack of speed and anticipation in the attack might not be ideal for the new Milan coach – Giampaolo as the left-back does not seem to fit his game style and might be on his way out after two seasons with the Rossoneri.
