CM: Three positive and four negative performances from the defeat against ZTE

By Oliver Fisher -

After the win against FC Köln last week, AC Milan slipped to a 3-2 defeat against ZTE in Hungary yesterday in what was a step backwards.

Milan were 3-0 down after 26 minutes against their Hungarian opponents who were far more intense from the start but are also further along in their preseason. Calciomercato.com have picked out the players who impressed against ZTE, and those who struggled.

Starting with the positives, Pierre Kalulu had a good game. While it is true that Milan conceded three goals, the Frenchman was not at fault for any of them and his physical condition at this stage of preseason is very encouraging.

Yacine Adli was very promising again too. The Frenchman always looking forward with intelligence and he is showing he has a great desire to immediately carve out an important role in the team.

Fode Ballo-Toure showed his attacking capabilities in the first half of the game as he showed a constant desire to get to the byline and create danger. He also won the penalty to make it 3-1.

Moving on to disappointments, Brahim Díaz struggled and once again did not have much of a presence in the number 10 role, while Alessandro Florenzi suffered from the vehemence of the Hungarians because he is not yet up to condition.

Marco Brescianini was played from the first minute due to the unavailability of Bakayoko and Pobega but his performance was not good as he lost his man for the second and third goal. Finally, Ante Rebic took a step back after the good performance in Cologne.
