TMW: €40m Uruguayan ready to leave Arsenal in January with AC Milan lurking

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is moving increasingly towards demanding a January exit amid links with AC Milan, a report claims.

The Rossoneri were heavily linked with a move for Torreira over the summer as Marco Giampaolo looked for a reunion with the player he helped develop at Sampdoria.

The reliable Gianluca Di Marzio even reported that the Uruguay international wanted the move and Torreira fuelled the rumours by claiming he much preferred life in Italy compared with living in England.

At the time, it was claimed that the Gunners had slapped a price tag of at least €40million on Torreira, while Milan in the end signed Ismael Bennacer from Empoli.

However, speculation has begun to resurface as TMW recently claimed that the 23-year-old is ‘unhappy’ Arsenal currently as he is being played out of position, and is set for crunch talks over his future, with Milan interested again.

According to the latest from TMW (via MilanNews.it), Torreira is becoming ‘more and more convinced’ by the idea of leaving north London in January.

In fact, the report even claims that the latest round have talks has led Torreira to decide that he will leave if a good proposal arrives in the January window.
