Sandro Tonali’s goal against Lazio towards the end of the season has been picked out by a report as the key moment of AC Milan’s campaign.
As has been reported by Milan News, the late winner scored by Tonali against Lazio can be pinpointed as the moment where Milan were clearly en route to a first Scudetto since 2011.
The game came shortly after the heavy 3-0 defeat against Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-final.
The Rossoneri fell behind early on against the Biancocelesti when Ciro Immobile found the back of the net. He ended the campaign as the top scorer in Serie A.
The second half started well with Olivier Giroud making it 1-1 and then with practically the last meaningful action of the game, Tonali scrambled the ball over the line when getting on the end of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s header.
Milan won the game and never looked back in the title race.
