Tuttosport: Cardinale will not meet Inter owner Zhang – San Siro project fades

By Isak Möller -

Gerry Cardinale is currently in Milano and he had a meeting with the mayor Beppe Sala this morning. However, he will not Inter owner Steven Zhang during his time in the city, which is an important indication.

Milan have seemingly abandoned the San Siro project completely and are now working on building their own stadium in the La Maura or Sesto San Giovanni areas. In fact, that was the key talking point during today’s meeting with the mayor (read here).

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Cardinale has not scheduled any meeting with Inter owner Steven Zhang. He’s fully focused on getting Milan a stadium of their own and the San Siro project has thus faded.

Inter were caught off guard by Milan’s sudden movement and now find themselves unprepared. It remains to be seen what they will decide, but staying at San Siro doesn’t seem like an unlikely option for the Nerazzurri.

“…doesn’t seems like an unlikely option…”
