Tuttosport: €35m Chelsea man, Leipzig star and Danish sensation – Milan’s seven-man playmaker wish list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to make a statement by moving on from Hakan Calhanoglu with a quality replacement, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how Milan are looking for an attacking midfielder who can replace the Turkey international in the 4-2-3-1 system, with Brahim Diaz set to return from Real Madrid but his presence alone will not be enough.

Hakim Ziyech of Chelsea is perhaps the profile that most teases Maldini and his colleagues, but the Blues would like to collect at least €35m from the possible sale of the Moroccan given how much they paid to Ajax, but at the end of the market they could also accept a loan with option to buy.

The new name is Mikkel Damsgaard of Sampdoria, and the Dane can play in all positions behind the striker and is considered a profile perfect for Elliott Management’s project as he is young, talented and has great potential.

There are other options being looked at too such as Mattia Zaccagni of Hellas Verona, Rafinha of Paris Saint-Germain, Marcel Sabitzer of RB Leipzig and Dani Ceballos of Real Madrid, while James Rodriguez’s future at Everton is far from certain and Jorge Mendes could assist the operation.
