Tuttosport: Giroud could be called up for Milan’s friendly clash against Nice

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud and Mike Maignan took part in their first training session for Milan earlier today, joining from Chelsea and Lille respectively. Up until now, they had been on vacation but are now ready to begin the adventure.

The arrival of Giroud, in particular, is important for the Rossoneri as Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still recovering from his knee surgery. Until the Swede is back, therefore, the Frenchman will be the perfect replacement for Stefano Pioli to use.

Speaking of which, the No.9 could soon make his debut for the club, as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews). Giroud is fired up and has trained every day during his vacation, arriving at Milanello in great physical condition.

As a result, per the newspaper, Pioli could include the striker in the squad that will face Nice in a friendly clash on July 31st, this Saturday. It remains to be seen if Maignan will be included as well.

  1. It’s not a good idea. You need to train hard with your teammates for at least 2-3 weeks. It should be avoided to get injured. MilanLab and muscle injuries… Don’t ruin it right away.
