Tuttosport: Milan could decide to keep Pobega due to Kessie’s injury – the latest

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie will be out of action for a few weeks and this has prompted Milan to evaluate the depth situation in the midfield. Tommaso Pobega could end up staying at the club as a result, per a report.

Milan will take part in three competitions this season and don’t want to be caught unprepared, as was somewhat the case last season. Kessie’s injury might not be serious, but it was still a wake-up call for the management.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, the Rossoneri could decide to keep Pobega. The young midfielder seemed destined to leave on loan but that is not the case anymore, although it’s still a possibility.

He has impressed during pre-season and there’s no doubt that he would be a good alternative for the midfield tandem. However, at his age, he also needs a lot of playing time and Milan might not be able to guarantee that.

  1. Regardless of further additions i think we should keep him til late january at minimum and if he still doesn’t get enough minutes by then we can always loan him out for the remainder of the season. There is lots of competitions so it would make sense keeping him both because of unforseen injuries and the fact that we also need to live up the cl criterias of having enough homegrown players in the final cl squad.
