Tuttosport: Milan have learnt from past mistakes as renewal talks begin for key trio

By Isak Möller -

The contract situation of Hakan Calhanoglu and Gigio Donnarumma has been far from easy for Milan, who now could lose the duo for free. They won’t repeat the mistake, already at work on the players that will expire in 2022.

As reported by today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan have started the work for the renewals of Davide Calabria, Franck Kessie and Alessio Romagnoli. They will expire in 2022 and the Rossoneri want to keep them.

Kessie’s first request, as the newspaper details, was quite high as he requested €5m per year. Milan responded with a lower offer, but still an improvement on the €2.2m he currently earns. The parties will meet again soon but they want to continue together.

Calabria currently earns €1.1m and has asked for a salary of €2m, which isn’t a lot considering the quality of the right-back. As for Romagnoli, he wants to stay and Milan will keep him tight, unless a huge offer arrives for him this summer.
