Tuttosport: Pioli smiles as key duo is back in full swing at Milanello

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli has received some very good news ahead of AC Milan’s important clash against Atalanta on Sunday evening. Sandro Tonali is back in training and Olivier Giroud is also fully recovered.

Tonali sustained a muscle injury in the friendly against Vicenza but fortunately, the tests ruled out a tear. That’s why the midfielder has been able to return to training this week and Pioli now has more or less a full squad, as highlighted by Tuttosport (via MilanNews).

Giroud started on the bench against Udinese due to muscle fatigue but he has now recovered fully. The attack options for the Atalanta clash are thus plenty and it remains to be seen what decision Pioli will make for the game.

This also means that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the only player currently out with an injury. He’s expected back at the beginning of 2023 and he will most certainly be an important addition for the second half of the season. A January signing if you will.

  1. I would use Giroud in this match ,if he has fully recovered ..He is still a top man ,and will score goals ,especially against the better sides which includes Atalanta ..I still think this man had so much technical ability and belief in himself ..I believe we AC Milan ,can win honours again this season ..We have a great squad to chose from .so pleased Tonali is also recovered from his injury .

    1. + Rebic is a player who can literally change the game when entering the pitch.

Hopefully Giroud & Tonali are both in the starting 11.
