Following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Stefano Pioli has some thinking to do, with regards to the team selection. Then again, he seems keen on moving forward with the 4-3-3 formation.
However, this also means that we will hardly see Ibrahimovic and Piatek on the pitch together. According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), the manager is studying different solutions that could allow them to coexist.
As the newspaper points out, there are three possible formations that Pioli could opt for, should he want to use the two strikers together: 4-3-1-2, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2, with Theo Hernandez and Andrea Conte acting as wing-backs in the latter formation.
Most likely, though, 4-3-3 will be the main choice, which also means that Ibrahimovic and Piatek will compete against each other for the starting spot. For the Polish international, it won’t be an easy job, although it could help him grow after a poor start.
