AC Milan have a number of issues to address over the coming weeks and months which could disrupt the squad in view of the resumption of the season.
Friday’s elimination from the Coppa Italia at the hands of Juventus means that Milan must secure qualification for European competition through the league.
According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan will inevitably have to untangle some knots that are still rather tangled. There is Ralf Rangnick’s arrival and the position of Paolo Maldini to tackle, while the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma are also on the agenda.
There should be no problems regarding Rangnick as an agreement is already in place and just needs to be signed, while the Maldini issue is much more complicated. Elliott do not want to lose the former Rossoneri captain, but it will be practically impossible to convince him to stay if Rangnick should arrive.
As for Ibrahimovic however, doubts about his stay in Milan were not helped by the discussion he had with Gazidis and he is now set to leave. Meanwhile, the club view the renewal of Donnarumma as essential.
