Tuttosport: Simone Inzaghi and Spalletti among Milan’s five-man manager shortlist

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have reportedly drawn up a five-man shortlist as they assess potential replacements for current head coach Stefano Pioli.

Despite the general consensus being that the Rossoneri’s performances have hugely improved under Pioli in comparison to Marco Giampaolo’s disastrous 111-day reign, speculation is still rife claiming he will be replaced at the end of the season regardless with the team 10 points off the top four.

Pioli actually addressed these rumours during his pre-Fiorentina press conference, and in particular about the positive words from directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

A number of different names continue to be linked with the Milan bench for next season though, and according to a report from Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com) there are currently five names being considered.

One is current Red Bull Football Head of Development Ralf Rangnick, a man who reports in France claim has already signed a deal with Milan, but not one that is 100% concrete.

Aside from the German, the Turin-based newspaper claims that Milan the Diavolo are continuing to monitor the situations of Max Allegri, Luciano Spalletti and Marcelino – all currently out of work – plus Lazio boss Simone Inzaghi who is doing an incredible job with the capital club.
