Two players Milan could sacrifice to secure Calhanoglu replacement from Verona

By Isak Möller -

Hakan Calhanoglu is edging closer to Inter as they presented him with a better offer than that of Milan, who now will have to find a replacement. This work is already well underway, with a player identified.

According to MilanNews, the Rossoneri have set their sights on Mattia Zaccagni, who is ready to make the leap to a big club. This past season, the 26-year-old scored five goals and assisted an additional seven in the league.

And in order to lower the price tag of the playmaker, which is about €20m, Milan could include one or two counterparts in the deal. Andrea Conti and Mattia Caldara are two players that Hellas Verona would welcome with open arms.

Both have just returned from loan spells and it doesn’t look like they have a future with the Rossoneri. They could, therefore, come in handy as Milan now need a replacement for Calhanoglu.

  1. This would be ideal. Get rid of deadwood and get in a great player, he is a different type of player and probably better than Calhanoglu.
