Following the 2-2 draw against Salernitana, which still saw them gain a point on Inter, AC Milan are preparing to face Udinese on Friday evening. Rafael Leao, as has been the case every game this year, will be a key player.
The Portuguese winger has 10 goals and 6 assists in all competitions for Milan this season and 5 respectively 3 of them have arrived in 2022. In other words, he has had a great start to the year and the Rossoneri are very happy with him.
Speaking to MilanTV (see video with subtitles below), Leao spoke about his red-hot form, the draw against Salernitana, and the upcoming game against Udinese.
On his form…
“I want to continue like this: to play well and help the team until the end of the season. The trust of my teammates and those who work with me has been important for my growth. I’m scoring because I’m confident that I can make the difference on the pitch.”
On goals that almost were…
“I want all my shots to go in because they can be important for the team. In our last game too, if that ball (bicycle kick) had gone in we could have won and advanced in the standings. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen but I will keep trying to score more goals.”
On his chant…
“I like it! What’s best about being a footballer is your fans motivating you like this. It boosts my confidence and motivates me even more to do well on gameday and I want to thank all of our fans.”
On the Salernitana draw…
“We created a few chances but it just wasn’t our night. At least we didn’t lose, we drew, and claimed a point to move up the table.”
On the Udinese clash…
“We have to start off well, unlike we did in our last game because they have strong players up front and we need to be careful. We’re playing at home, in front of our fans, we have another chance to win and stay up there.
