Watch: Pioli dissects important win against Inter and heaps praise on Milan fans

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli was understandably happy after AC Milan’s win against Inter last night, bouncing back from the draw against Sassuolo. However, he made it clear that the Rossoneri still have things to improve.

After conceding the first goal, Milan managed to turn the derby around (again) as Rafael Leao scored a brace and Olivier Giroud also found the back of the net. The final score was 3-2, though, indicating some situations must be improved.

Speaking to MilanTV (see the full interview below with subtitles), Pioli dissected the win against Inter and admitted that they slacked off a bit towards the end.

“Of course, I’m happy with the win. With a stadium like that, it’s really spectacular. Our fans give us so much energy, I think you can see it in the way we play. But I will tell the team that they can’t drop off, especially against strong sides, we risked letting them back into it. As a manager, I’m proud of this group.”
