Tijjani Reijnders has done well since he arrived at AC Milan and last night, he arguably played his best game so far as the Rossoneri beat Monza. Stefano Pioli already has the nickname nailed down, as well.
The Dutchman was named the MOTM in our player ratings, given a 6.5/10, mainly because he was able to break the lines with his movement and also looked very comfortable in possession.
After the game, Pioli was asked a question about Reijnders and noticed that the journalist pronounced the surname in two different ways just to be sure. He quickly replied that he conveniently calls the midfielder ‘Tijj’ and ‘Tiji’ instead, getting around the problem.
Stefano Pioli has his own way of getting around the Reijnders pronunciation conundrum…
