The San Siro pitch has been a hot topic in the last few weeks as it was indeed dreadful ahead of the international break. However, just in time for tomorrow’s derby, the pitch has been relaid and looks a lot better.
Despite voices of concern from Milan and Inter, the schedule was extremely tight for the San Siro pitch in January. This resulted in a terrible condition and just before the break, it was described as more or less unplayable.
It was thus decided that the pitch would be relaid during the break, which is something they usually do in the summer ahead of a new season. There was no other option given the terrible condition of the pitch, though, and the work has been intense during the break.
On his Twitter, CBS Sports pundit Marco Messina published a video of how the pitch currently looks and it must be said that it looks a lot better. Good news indeed with such an important game coming up.
