Berlusconi to Premium: “Chinese need serious efforts. Ibra…”

By Oliver Fisher -

Silvio Berlusconi has spoken about the future of AC Milan after lots of uncertainty.

The club president spoke to Premium about the sale to the Chinese, his role at the club and the possible arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Speaking on the possible takeover, Berlusconi stated that the agreement would have to be perfect for him to sell.

“They will have to make serious efforts to give Milan an annual support to get it back among the leaders. We hope to find an appropriate solution to what I want, that is, to guarantee investments for a Milan so they are a protagonist in Italy, in Europe and in the World.

“We are dealing with these important Chinese companies: for me it is vital that there are safeguards so the club is always up. In short, will be an important 15 days: it takes care and patience without getting caught by the thoughtfulness.

“Will they change the management in case of takeover? I do not know what they will do and how they will want to do it but we’ll see…”

“They will have to make serious efforts to give Milan an annual support to get it back among the leaders. Me? I learned seven words in Chinese, one a day.”

“The Chinese want me to remain president for another three years and I have given my approval. We are working on this, if we find the agreement then as a last task after a thirty-year management I will have found the right successor for Milan.

“Honourary presidency? Yes, I’m taking this into account this also & as an honourary president I can direct choices & decisions.”

On a plan B if the sale is not successful.

“If none of these [conditions] happen then I’d happily keep Milan and consider my internal solution, a young and Italian Milan.”

“Brocchi? If I stay then he stays too. He is a good coach, right for the project.”

Berlusconi also dismissed the possible signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“Ibra? His cost is like monopoly; impossible.”
