Boban confirms Milan ‘secured Rangnick in December’ – reveals mercato background

By Isak Möller -

Following his sacking less than 24 hours ago, Zvonimir Boban has already returned to talk about AC Milan. As expected, the Croatian director defended his interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport from last weekend.

Of course, there are better ways to end your Rossoneri adventure than to get sacked, but the feeling is that a majority of the fans are against the decision. In any case, Boban defended his interview as ‘legally flawless’, which you can read here.

Furthermore, the Croatian once again confirmed that Ralf Rangnick has been contacted by the Rossoneri. In fact, this time out, he even went as far as saying that an agreement has been reached, speaking to Il Giornale (via Calciomercato.com).

“Rangnick? They secured him in December. I can only wish him all the best possible, but they had to tell me, I deserved to be informed of the initiative,” he began.

Boban then revealed a mercato background, as Gazidis told him: “We can’t make any decisions without the consent of the new manager,” he concluded.

It remains to be seen if an official response will arrive from the club, considering that Boban’s claims this morning are quite revealing. In any case, his adventure with the club has come to an end once and for all.
