Bruno Longhi: “I know through Spalletti’s friends he would accept Milan job”

By Oliver Fisher -

Luciano Spalletti would accept an offer to coach AC Milan if it arrived, according to journalist Bruno Longhi.

The Rossoneri have made their worst start to a Serie A campaign in over 80 years having lost four out of their first six, with speculation rife that Saturday represents a do-or-die game for head coach Marco Giampaolo.

The media have linked a number of names with the hot-seat in the last 24 hours, including the likes of Rudi GarciaAndriy ShevchenkoGennaro GattusoRoberto Donadoni and Claudio Ranieri.

There have also been rumours that there are two ‘dream’ options for Milan in the form of Max Allegri and Luciano Spalletti, with contact reportedly made with the former.

However it seems like Milan would have a good chance of landing Spalletti should they make a suitable enough offer, as Bruno Longhi believes the former Inter boss would accept.

“In confidence from his friends, I had already heard that Spalletti, before the start of the season, he had said he would be stopped unless there was an offer from Milan, so if it arrived then everything would change,” Longhi said, via Calciomercato.com.
