Chelsea back for Romagnoli; must pay £50m for defender

By Oliver Fisher -

It looks like Antonio Conte wants to keep adding defenders to his Chelsea backline, and the Italian coach has set his sights once again on AC Milan.

According to The Sun, the Blues’ Coach is wants to grab Milan youngster Alessio Romagnoli, widely considered to be among Serie A’s most interesting prospects in defence.

Following a strong maiden season with the Rossoneri, and an encouraging campaign with Sampdoria the previous year, the 21-year-old Romagnoli is valued at £50million.

Milan’s imminent takeover has left the club in the mire, unsure of whether the prospective owners have the money to invest (making Romagnoli’s departure unlikely) or not.
