Club legend Baresi admits Milan ‘were unlucky’ to draw Man Utd in Europa League

Milan got the toughest opponent possible in the Europa League round of 16, namely Man Utd, as was confirmed by the draw yesterday. It won’t be an easy hame for the Rossoneri, as Franco Baresi admitted.

The club legend and former captain, now an ambassador at the club, was asked about the draw in an interview with L’Equipe. He pretty much echoed the thoughts of most Rossoneri fans, who aren’t too confident ahead of the two-legged tie.

“We were unlucky, Manchester United is the favourite in this competition. They have great players, we know it’s going to be very difficult. We have to prepare for this match in the best possible way,” he stated.

Milan are currently preparing to take on Roma away from home tomorrow, hoping to bounce back after what has been four games without a win. Still in second place, getting the three points would be massive also confidence-wise.

Furthermore, it would be good to get going ahead of the big games against Man Utd, which won’t be easy if they continue to play like this. Hopefully, they will start the revival already tomorrow evening.
