CM: Kaio Jorge’s contract with Santos explained as Milan and Juve watch on

By Isak Möller -

In the last few weeks, Milan have been heavily linked with Santos star Kaio Jorge, who is looking to make the next leap in his career. However, the composition is fierce and his contract situation is complicated.

As explained by Calciomercato.com, amid recent reports of Santos’ stance, Kaio Jorge’s entourage have offered their client as a free agent in talks with Milan and Juventus. That is in five months, when his contract will expire.

However, Santos believe that Kaio Jorge is under contract until 2023, having signed a five-year deal back in 2018. The problem is that the striker was only 16 years at the time and as per FIFA’s regulations, unable to sign more than a three-year deal.

The Brazilian Federation allows for this and Santos are thus confident that FIFA will be able to deem it as an exception. Kaio Jorge’s agents, meanwhile, still believe that the deal will expire in December as the interest of Milan and Juventus remains.
