CM: Three options Pioli has for centre-forward role to offload Ibrahimovic

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently the only striker available for AC Milan and this is making life difficult for Stefano Pioli. There are a few solutions available, though, should the manager decide that the Swede needs rest.

Of course, it wouldn’t be smart to play Ibrahimovic for the full 90 minutes every game and thus some makeshift solutions will be needed. In addition to Daniel Maldini, Calciomercato.com have highlighted three players in that sense.

Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias are both good options if Pioli wants to play with a so-called ‘false nine’. However, he could also opt for Rade Krunic (as he did vs. Salernitana), who provides more physical strength and can also combine well with the midfielders.

The likes of Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and Pietro Pellegri are all on the injury list currently so it only makes sense for Pioli to think about his options. We will most likely see one of the aforementioned solutions already tonight.
