Confusion looms as Donnarumma blames social media posts on hackers

By Oliver Fisher -

The saga surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma seems to be continuous and never-ending, and it took another twist on Sunday night.

In fact, it took several twists, starting with a Twitter post from Donnarumma which stated: “#Donnarumma #Raiola Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow!”

Then, a statement was released via Instagram in which the 18-year-old opened up to the possibility of further negotiations with Milan.

“Today with my tweets I’ve sparked a real buzz, which I did not want to generate, and I apologize for that,” a statement on his official Instagram account read.

“I want to reiterate my absolute love for Milan and the fans. Now I have in my mind the national team, with which I hope to give a gift to all the fans.

“My promise is that as soon as the European Championships is over, I will meet the Club together with my family and my agent to discuss my renewal.”

He then deleted his entire Instagram account, including the statement above, but his Twitter account remained.

Agent Raiola also fired out a bizarre message this evening, posting: “DONNARAIOLA x HATERS 1-0. What’s next?” on Twitter.

Sky Italia however are reporting that the Instagram post from Donnarumma (discussing a renewal) was in fact sincere, and that AC Milan were aware of his intention to post it.
