It’s been a very tough season for AC Milan and as the relationship with the fans is at a breaking point, major changes are expected in the summer. According to a report, the Rossoneri are ready to change their stance on the stars.
Champions League appears to be out of reach for Sergio Conceicao’s side and not qualifying for the competition would, of course, be a huge failure. It would also have financial effects, which could prompt Milan to adopt a different strategy.
As highlighted by Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), up until this point, Milan have always been very protective of their stars. Sandro Tonali has been the only exception, given the hefty offer, but for key players like Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao the Rossoneri have always asked for a lot.
However, as hinted in January with Como’s interest in the left-back, no player is unsellable and Milan will evaluate all offers that arrive in great detail. It has a lot to do with their disappointing performances this season but it’s equally true that the Rossoneri will need to balance the accounts without the Champions League money.
Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport did a full breakdown of the squad, highlighting who will leave and stay this summer.
Whoever player is going to leave or stay should NOT be a decision made by Ibrahimović, Moncada and Furlani.
One of the most important comments right here.
I agree in principle, but if you have an abscess in your tooth, every dentist will tell you it must be treated… Regardless of which dentist you speak with.
Yea however the abscess in this case is not who you think it is. The abscess is management
Current Milan has one star: Pulisic. Reijnders is about to become one though.
Yes but our Lords will try to sell everyone who had anything in the game and leave in the club always injured and uninterested players who don’t do anything in games.
Personally I can’t imagine going into next season with a 4th coach answering questions about how he’ll motivate and “unlock” Leão (and Theo). They are both already club legends in my eyes and I admire them both… But the relationship has failed. We’ve tried therapy, and that has failed as well.
They are our highest paid players… It’s time to shake hands, move on, and invest that capital in new reference points
Everything is @$$-backwards. Like Sacchi said: Choose your coach, back him fully and buy/sell players based on the coach’s needs.
Instead, everyone’s on a chopping block.
