CorSera: Talks ongoing between Milan and Juventus for €40m man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are continuing negotiations with Juventus over defender Merih Demiral despite his price tag, a report claims.

Directors Ricky Massara, Paolo Maldini and the rest of the Rossoneri leadership are seemingly desperate to sign a new centre-back following Cristian Zapata’s departure last month.

The likes of Dejan Lovren and Matija Nastasic have been linked in the media – as well as Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano – however all look like expensive operations currently.

Recently, the track leading to Juve’s Demiral has reportedly been getting warmer, with Gianluca Di Marzio confirming earlier in the week that Milan’s interest is genuine.

The Turkey international recently joined Juve for €18m after a successful loan spell at Sassuolo, and Saturday’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews.it) claims that talks between Milan and Juve are ongoing.

They state that the interest from the Rossoneri is ‘concrete’ – but €40million would be needed to prise him away amid interest from Manchester United.
