CorSport: Four Milan players find form in Sampdoria win ahead of crucial Juve game

By Oliver Fisher -

After three consecutive defeats in the Champions League and Serie A, AC Milan rebounded thanks to the three points obtained against Sampdoria last night.

As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes, the feeling coming into the game was tense and subdued given the recent struggles, as demonstrated by the fact the crowd was not as high as it usually is.

A 5-1 certainly entertained those who were there, but in order to qualify for the Champions League something more will be needed than what was seen against Sampdoria, starting from Sunday against Juventus in Turon.

Rafael Leao remains the ‘great regret’ because having him in the Euroderby in the condition that the Portuguese winger showed last night might have altered things. Against Inter, Rafa only got in on goal on one occasion, but fired wide.

Another thing that didn’t work against Inter gave positive results last night was Olivier Giroud. He struggled a lot in the two legs, yet last night he netted a fantastic hat-trick, his first in the Rossoneri shirt.

The work of his team-mates behind him is also valuable, starting with Brahim Diaz who got two assists and a goal, and Sandro Tonali the all-rounder in Milan’s midfield.
