CorSport: What Pioli hopes to tick off during Milan’s preseason trip to Vicenza

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will take on Vicenza tomorrow at the Romeo Menti stadium looking to get more useful minutes in their legs ahead of the start of the Serie A season.

There are eight days until Milan’s Serie A title defence kicks off but tomorrow Stefano Pioli’s men will look to get themselves up to an even better condition.

According to reports from the Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), Charles De Ketelaere will get his first minutes in a Milan shirt but – due to the good form of Junior Messias – he will be used as an attacking midfielder rather than a right winger.

In the future we will see how Pioli will choose to use him given the reports of potentially having a fluid formation, but there is clearly an increase in quality given the Belgian’s arrival and Yacine Adli’s inclusion, when Rafael Leao was the only fixed point at times last season.

Milan are waiting for Divock Origi who is still on the sidelines due to rectus femoral problem that affected his last days at Liverpool. Tommaso Pobega will probably return against Vicenza after some physical problems and Simon Kjaer should play a segment of the match.
