Samuele Ricci is one of the brightest talents playing in Serie B and his performances for Empoli this season have attracted the attention of many clubs across the country as well as the continent.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio on his website, Napoli made a move first and have made a first offer between 11 and 12 million to Empoli, which is being evaluated by president Corsi. Fiorentina are also interested in the 18-year-old midfielder and are looking to make more decisive steps.
However, nothing is certain for now and, as pointed out by Di Marzio, Ralf Rangnick has been asking for information about Ricci for months now. He did it for Leipzig at the time, but if he ends up joining Milan, he would certainly be ready to make a move for the player, also given that such a profile fits perfectly in the youth project planned by Ivan Gazidis.
But all the above-mentioned teams must keep an eye on one important competitor: Borussia Dortmund. Manager Lucien Favre has ‘fallen in love’ with Ricci and has already tested the possibility of an operation. Ricci and his family are keeping this option opens. For now, however, the player is focused on Empoli and it remains to be seen what will happen in September.
