Di Stefano believes Cardinale’s era has fully begun: “A crown on Ibrahimovic’s head”

Gerry Cardinale has big plans for AC Milan and he made that clear in a recent interview, accompanied by his RedBird Operating Partner and Rossoneri advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic. As Peppe Di Stefano highlights, his era has now properly begun.

It was at the ‘Business of Football Summit’ that Cardoinaed outlined his plans for Milan, stating that fundamental changes must be made on all fronts. Ibrahimovic is just one piece of the puzzle, acting as a proxy for the American in Milano, and his opinions will matter a lot.

As highlighted by Peppe Di Stefano on Sky Italia last night, as cited by MilanNews, Cardinale’s era has now fully commenced and the upcoming summer will be essential. Ibrahimovic’s opinion will also be decisive on all things Milan, with ‘a crown on his head’.

“For me, yesterday [Thursday] is day zero of Cardinale’s era, perhaps his era has begun definitively. He put a crown on Ibrahimovic’s head, they were strong words. When he talks about revolution, he means it on all fronts from what I understand,” he stated.

Stefano Pioli’s exit seems more and more certain, especially given Milan’s consistency struggles on the pouch, and a big sale in the summer cannot be excluded either. If the latter does happen, though, then investments will be made to strengthen the squad  (like the 2023 summer).

  1. If they’re looking for a new coach, why aren’t they considering Hansi Flick? Even Xavi will be a great coach for us and he’s leaving Barcelona so I don’t see why we can’t go for him. Barca aren’t doing too well but they aren’t doing too bad either. Conte will be great but I don’t know if he’s a long term kinda manager. Flick or Xavi if you ask me.

  2. Please Gerry, get out of Ac Milan, you are destroying our beloved club, We need a competent managers with technical and skills ambitions, not ones whose care only for account and financial matters.

Take Moncada-Furlani-Pioli-Otavio with you away from the Rossonero Land, with all my respect toward Ibrahimovic he doesn’t represent Ac Milan, beacause of his lack of fair-play and for not lifting the champions league trophy, only person as Maldini-Braida-Albertini-Galliani can do it.

  3. Since Cardinale has arrived at Milan, Milan has done nothing but go downhill.

Our midfield has gotten weaker and is complete garbage. It’s the cause of our current situation. Reijnders is a terrible player. Adli is not good enough. Musah is not even CLOSE to good enough.

Attack still doesn’t have a proper forward to replace Giroud.

The defense has let in a whopping 32 goals so far this year in Serie A. That puts us in the BOTTOM half of the table for that stat. Take a look at Milan’s penalties given, again bottom half of table.

We have ZERO leadership. Ibra, while incredible, does not compare with Maldini. I’m sorry, he doesn’t. He hasn’t been effective anyway.

They booted Maldini & Massara, hired Moneyball Moncada who has made EVERY SINGLE SECTOR of Milan’s team weaker after spending over 120m. The only bright spot? Pulisic. That’s it. (Okafor was a Maldini recruit, BTW)

Disgusted. Moneyball Moncada is going to destroy this team and he is fully supported by Cardinale where both are obviously WAY out of their depth.
