Donnarumma: “I still can’t get over the last final; we’ll try to take revenge”

AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has admitted he is eyeing revenge on Juventus when the Rossoneri meet them in the Coppa Italia final again.

Donnarumma was the hero for Milan in the penalty shootout, saving three of Lazio’s eight penalties and keeping Gennaro Gattuso’s side in the contest before Alessio Romagnoli slotted home the winning spot kick.

The win in Rome sets up another fixture in Rome, this time against Juve on May 9 as Milan look to get payback for their 1-0 Coppa final defeat to the Bianconeri back in 2016.

“The credit goes to the whole team for a great performance, as we worked really hard to reach the Final and deserved this,” Donnarumma told Milan TV.

“We are a wonderful group. We’re so united, the opposition find it really difficult to break us down. The Coach made us become a real team, we are always together. As the Coach says, fatigue doesn’t exist, it’s all in the mind.

“We have more experience now than we did two years ago. I still can’t get over that Final and we’ll try to take revenge,” added Donnarumma.
