Mike Maignan appears to be one step away from joining Chelsea and AC Milan are now working on his successor, as highlighted by Gazzetta dello Sport this morning.

As a result of the Club World Cup, with several of the participating clubs looking to make reinforcements before it starts, it has been a lively start to June for Milan. After Tijjani Reijnders, the Rossoneri are now also expected to part ways with Maignan.

The goalkeeper was promised a renewal at the start of the year that never materialised, which prompted him to express a desire to join Chelsea. And with just one year left of his contract, the Stamford Bridge side are certainly getting a great deal.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, as mentioned, highlighted the latest on Maignan-Chelsea and Milan’s pursuit of a replacement. By the looks of it, they will be looking to get a deal for Roma’s Mile Svilar over the line.

  1. So Maignan to Chelsea for a small sum considering it’s Chelsea. We then put more money than we get for him to buy from Roma!?
    How is that good business?

This management could’ve gotten Theo och Maignan extensions done during autumn. Instead both will leave for change.

Yes, they both had a bad season. But so did the whole team. Even Pulisic and Reijnders had really bad matches as the team has been awful.

Now Reijnders, Theo, Mike and maybe even Leao will be gone. The only one left with good stats is Pulisic who will not extend his contract as this is a sinking ship that sells the players with any sort of stats that are good.

Theo and Leao have decent stats even though they both have underperformed compared to other seasons. Especially Theo has been tired and Leao is still quite lazy at times.
Selling Leao would’ve made sense so that we could’ve kept Reijnders and keep on building on the team.

Now all the better players will be gone and Pulisic is going to be left alone.

If we bring in Modric and Xhaka we will not have any resale value from them. Considering Milan selling their best players I am not convinced Modric would even like to come here if we can’t compete for the Scudetto.

Worst case scenario is that we will have to replace Reijnders, Theo, Maignan and Leao without having Champions League to offer. What kind of players will we get?

Best case scenario is that we get a lot of money and get players that develop to monsters and we win the Scudetto.

    1. AC MILAN is really sinking ship, Reijnders gone, Mike Meigan also gone….Theo and Leoa will likely leave….even FIKAYO TOMORI will also leave. Christian Pulisic is confused 🤔 now on what next….
