GdS: 20 minutes and almost a debut goal – Mandzukic prepares for start vs. Inter

By Isak Möller -

Mario Mandzukic made his debut for Milan last night, coming off the bench with 20 minutes to go of the game against Atalanta. It wasn’t a bad first outing for the Croatian, who could start vs. Inter on Tuesday.

As highlighted by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the 20 minutes he got proved that Stefano Pioli wasn’t wrong when subbing him on. The striker entered the pitch with energy and nearly got a goal straight away, but the goalkeeper made a good save.

Mandzukic has always been very focused on keeping his head down and working hard, with few words and a lot of sacrifice. A minimal attitude that Zlatan Ibrahimovic probably appreciates. After all, it’s what you do on the pitch that matters.

Milan chose their new No.9 for his experience and skills and the player chose the club to prove that he still has what it takes. Now he has to find the rhythm and the newspaper suggests that he could play from start against Inter in the Coppa Italia clash.
