GdS: Milan player ratings for win vs. Inter – Ibrahimovic is unstoppable; returnee criticised

By Isak Möller -

Milan continued their unbeaten run last night, taking the tally to 20, with an impressive derby win against Inter. Zlatan Ibrahimovic came up big with a brace, but the entire team put in an important performance.

As usual, Gazzetta Dello Sport published their player ratings this morning (via Milanlive.it). The man of the match, of course, was Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a rating of 8 from the newspaper, calling him ‘unstoppable’ last night.

Franck Kessie and Rafael Leao were next in line (both 7). The former dominated the midfield and made it very difficult for Inter, while the Portuguese was decisive with the 2-0 assist and also impressed with several good moves.

Ismael Bennacer, Alexis Saelemaekers and Hakan Calhanoglu were rated at 6.5. In particular, the Turk impressed, always inspired to build the play with different solutions. This is exactly what Antonio Conte’s Inter lacked during the clash.

Simon Kjaer, surprisingly, only got 6 despite what many thought was a fantastic display. Gigio Donnarumma got the same rating, as he wasn’t perfect on the conceded goal. The two full-backs also ‘passed’ with this rating.

Alessio Romagnoli, however, was criticised. He got just 5.5 and although he has just returned, slightly behind fitness-wise, he often lost the duels with Romelu Lukaku and struggled just like in past derbies.
