GdS: Milan ratings for crucial win against Parma – Quartet praised; a few surprises

By Isak Möller -

Milan came away with all three points against Parma last night despite playing more than 30 minutes with ten men. Although the home side pulled one back, Rafael Leao sealed the deal in stoppage time.

Several Rossoneri players performed very well last night and this was a good sign, especially after the draw against Sampdoria last weekend. Once again, Stefano Pioli’s side looked very good away from home, now they need to improve at home.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport took stock of the player performances (via MilanLive) and a few players were praised by them. Franck Kessie was deemed as the best with 7/10, while Gigio Donnarumma, Leao and Ante Rebic also got that rating.

Ismael Bennacer had a good impact and was given a 6.5, just like Theo Hernandez and Diogo Dalot. The latter came off the bench and did really well not just in defence, but also to set Leao up for the third goal.

Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Alexis Saelemaekers were deemed as sufficient with 6/10. Perhaps surprisingly, Simon Kjaer got just 5.5 as he made a mistake on Parma’s goal. Hakan Calhanoglu and Soualiho Meite got the same rating.

At the bottom, we find Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 4.5 as a result of the red card, which didn’t seem justified based on what the Swede said. Either way, the argument put his teammates in great difficulty.
