AC Milan have not given up on Donnarumma contract extension and negotiations to persuade the player to sign a new deal with the club will carry on in the next few days.
The promising Italian goalkeeper is currently on International duty with U21 Italy national team and, at least for the moment, has put new contract talks on hold.
Both parties have confirmed that Donnarumma won’t sign a contract extension, at least for now, and AC Milan have informed their starlet that he can takes the time he needs to think about the offer of the rossoneri.
Meantime, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is also working to persuade the player to sign a new deal.
The Italian manager made return from his holidays earlier this week and according to the Italian paper he visited Donnarumma’s family in Castellammare di Stabia, a city close to Naples and close to Montella hometown Pomigliano d’Arco.
Montella reportedly had an ‘informal’ meeting with the parents of Donnarumma backing them after some threats they have received over the last few weeks and insisting that their son would be a vital part for the future of AC Milan.
